Harvey Mudd College’s Mudd Magazine features ExploraVist in its spring/summer 2026 issue, in an alumni profile called “Accessible Independence.”

It tells how ExploraVist began. In 2023, Ket Hollingsworth pitched his suitemate, Dominick Quaye, an app that would describe the world for blind people. Dominick asked why we would build a visual interface for people who struggle to see. Why not a wearable with tactile buttons? That question shaped ExploraVist: three buttons, no screen.

The story also covers our early testing at the Inland Empire Lighthouse for the Blind, our Harvey Mudd Clinic project sponsored by The Hive, and our booth at the CSUN Assistive Technology Conference this spring.

“We want to put genuinely capable technology in the hands of people worldwide living with moderate-to-severe visual impairment, at a price that makes independence accessible,” Ket told the magazine.
