Third prototype

Our third prototype reads descriptions aloud in about six seconds. We also changed how it generates descriptions to lower the cost of running it.

You can now:

• Adjust the volume
• Check the battery level
• Change models from GPT-4 to Claude Haiku
• Choose a short or detailed description

Feedback from testing at the Inland Empire Lighthouse for the Blind is helping us improve the next prototype. We’re working on a design that will be easier to manufacture, along with more ways to use the device.

What we’re exploring next:

• Voice Input: Ask questions about pictures for a specific description
• Voice Assistant: Ask any question to the AI without a picture
• Voice Memos: Record notes for yourself so you can replay them
• App Support: Partner iPhone/Android app to connect your device to the internet without needing to call with us to set it up!
